Job summary
The range of assigned tasks will be carried out with the highest standard to support and enable registered nursing staff to provide patient care, which reflects the quality standards, values and behaviours of the University Health Board.
Support the delivery of a comprehensive nursing service including chronic disease management, public health nursing and first contact nursing in prison premises and in cell care to coordinate the care needs of patients.
Support the Nurse Manager in developing the Nursing Service.
The bank worker is responsible for the delivery of nursing services to the practice population.
They will be supervised and supported by senior nurses within the service, and they will deliver care within the boundaries of their role, focusing upon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring chronic conditions.
Main duties of the job
The bank worker will be responsible for ensuring that all resources within that area are used to an optimum effect.
Participate in responsibility for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed, and meet the UHB requirements contained in the Health & Safety Policy.
Responsible for administering medication in accordance with RCN guidance.
Responsible for the management of the patient/client in clinical settings.
Respond to medical emergencies promptly and to ensure that emergency equipment is conveyed to the scene.
Participate in supporting and supervising new/less experienced staff i.e. registered nurses, student nurses and health care support workers.
Be responsible for providing accurate, current, comprehensive and concise records concerning the condition of the client in accordance with the NMC Standards for Records and Record Keeping, and the Data Protection Act.
