Job summary
The General Surgery and Gastrointestinal (GSGI) Care Group is seeking to appoint an experienced, well-motivated, enthusiastic and independently minded individual with a "can do" leadership style. The succesful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, safe effective and innovative services within the GSGI Care Group in line with nationally and locally agreed standards.
The post holder will provide project and managerial support encompassing a broad range of activities across the GSGI Department. This will include the monitoring and reporting of Referral to Tratment Time (RTT) and SCP data, overseeing the management of administration staff, medical staffing rotas and operational support.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of operational plans and manage performance by proactively leading and providing solutions to resolve operational issues or escalating where necessary.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will require;
- Excellent communication skills, forming close working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Require excellent analytical skills to understand complex data, and the effects of implementing different options in different scenarios.
- Provide and present complex data and the effects of implementing different options in different scenarios.
- Provide and present complex, and sometimes contentious information to Senior Managers and Clinicians in a way that is sensitive and understandable.
- On occasion, deal directly with patients/carers on matters of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
- Ensure all staff are fully aware of patients right to confidentiality at all times and promote good practice to support this.
- Ensure medical rota's are completed in a timely and effective manner and support the Directorate Support Manager in sourcing cover for gaps.
