Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist bereavement midwife to join our team within our Maternity service. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate midwife who is dedicated to supporting families experiencing bereavement loss, as well as offering specialist bereavement support and training to the multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be a registered midwife with excellent midwifery practice skills, who will facilitate and provide individualized care to bereaved women and their families.
This post will cover al areas within CTM.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Be a practising midwife who will lead the delivery of an individualised service to bereaved women and their families. This will include clinical leadership within the maternity services for the bereaved and their families and the education of the staff involved.
- Provide bereavement support to women and their families experiencing medical termination of pregnancy, late miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death.
- Be responsible for the delivery of clinical midwifery care as part of a multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the NMC standards.
- Be expected to act as a mentor for junior qualified midwives and be involved in the mentoring and assessing of students, including basic and/or post-basic students.
- Be involved with audit and research projects and take a lead role in advancing new ideas in midwifery.
- Ensure a seamless service is delivered, addressing problems and taking remedial action to maintain excellent standards of care.
- As a member of the Senior Team the post holder will be required to participate in a Maternity on-call rota as and when required
