An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SCPHN School Nurse to join our team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as School Nurse Team Leader.
The purpose of this post is to support the Senior Nurse for School Nursing by providing strong, visible and compassionate leadership, and clinical expertise to the School Nursing team.
Working autonomously to operationally manage a defined group of staff. We are looking for an individual who has a broad knowledge of School Nursing practice and a clear vision of best practice, who comes with an innovative and can-do attitude to ensure a one team approach to service delivery.
This role is required to ensure the planning, implementation and delivery of the Healthy Child Wales Programme 2 (HCWP2) by the School Nursing team is underpinned by the appropriate governance and quality assurance, which aligns to local and national strategic priorities and health board values and behaviours.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the team leader role include some of the following:
- Maintains clinical credibility by providing specialist advice and role modelling to the school nursing team.
- This post holder is required to be a skilled and creative practitioner, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery through demand and capacity management and required caseload supervision.
- The effective day to day leadership and management of staff to ensure the delivery of a quality assured school nursing service, using a one team approach.
- The post holder will proactively identify gaps in service delivery and work in collaboration with the School Nursing team, health board colleagues and external stakeholders to develop School Nursing initiative and programmes.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
