Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialty Doctor to work in our dynamic and expanding Acute Medicine Team. This exciting opportunity involves a permanent placement and has an attached study leave budget.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the consultant body and support the junior team in a variety of clinical settings including the Acute Medical Unit and the Same Day Emergency Care Unit.
The successful candidate will be able to develop their knowledge and skills in a busy department with a high turnover of patients and will be expected to take part in all teaching programmes. There is also the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in specialist clinics such as TIA, headache & 1st fit clinics. The post-holder will participate in the General Medicine on-call rota commensurate with experience.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a clinical service with colleagues, which will include the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness. This will involve ward work, clinics and referrals within the speciality, as well as on calls within general medicine at medical registrar level.
The Acute Medicine department has a strong clinical teaching ethos in both postgraduate and undergraduate spheres which the post holder would be expected to contribute towards.
