Job summary

Resuscitation Training is an integral part of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (UHB), who work to ensure that relevant training is provided to all staff groups, to ensure that they are supported in delivering safe and efficient patient care through quality placements.

The post holder will support the Resuscitation Training Department in ensuring courses are planned and delegates are notified of the venue and dates in advance to minimise cancellations. The post holder will also act as the main point of contact for all staff regarding booking, confirming and cancelling their places which will require excellent communication and listening skills.

The post holder will work as part of the Resuscitation Training team, will act independently within clearly defined occupational policies with work managed rather than supervised, providing a range of administrative support and effectively deliver and prioritise a wide range of duties to support the function of the Department.

The post holder will also be required to work flexibly within a busy working environment and develop the role and alter its scope as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will :

Assist in the planning and implement of the various courses.

Assist with course booking arrangements and prioritising their own workload.

Deal with day-to-day general enquiries for all aspects of the, courses offered by the Department, using own judgement to reply to queries.

Be responsible for training room bookings.

Distribute accurate course details and information in good time to agreed deadlines.

Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the Internet/Intranet/Apps and Social Media content and information to promote the Department and what is offered to staff/students.

Support the co-ordination of, and be involved in the delivery of large events such as conferences. This will include booking venues, organising equipment, catering and liaising with staff at all levels to ensure the event runs efficiently.

Be able to travel throughout the UHB in a timely manner to undertake the role across various sites.

  • Knowledge of office procedures and systems, some of which are non-routine, and non-routine activities such as answering queries, progress chasing, task related problem solving, acquired through experience and training to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in organising training events.
  • Excellent verbal, written and IT skills. Attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills. Convey messages clearly. Ability to produce reports from databases.
  • Previous experience of taking and transcribing minutes of meetings.

  • Working knowledge of the function of Resuscitation Department.
