Are you organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy helping others? We are currently seeking a Waiting List Booking Officer to join our team and help manage our booking system.
Main duties of the job
In conjunction with: consultant surgeons, consultant anaesthetists, theatre coordinator and medical secretaries across sites to ensure elective day case/inpatient pathways are managed appropriately and lists are consistently booked with maximum utilisation, in a timely fashion to ensure no patients cancellations are received on the day of surgery and national targets are met.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential
- Good standard of education
- RSA/OCR III or equivalent knowledge and experience
- ECDL, or equivalent qualification or experience in the following Microsoft office packages - Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable
- Basic knowledge of NHS performance targets, particularly in waiting times
- Basic knowledge of data protection and confidentiality
Experience/Skills
Essential
- Appropriate experience of working within a hospital and/or office environment
- Significant experience of dealing with the public
- Good organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability and willingness to work across divisions and sites
Desirable
- Experience of working in NHS or similar organisation
- Familiarity with the Health Board Myrddin System
