Job summary
The post holder will take a key leadership role and work closely with senior leaders in the CTMUHB Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Care Group to develop and enhance the service within the Local Primary Mental Health Support Service (LPMHSS) that is trauma informed. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of psychological interventions to individuals within the LPMHSS's across CTM. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for managing the team, ensuring that Welsh Government Targets are met whilst delivering high quality care, supervision and working with stakeholders to identify service priorities.
The post holder will join a team of senior psychologists within the MH&LD Care Group and professional development opportunities will be supported.
The LPMHSS's are currently engaged in an exciting period of service development where there are many opportunities to lead projects to help shape the future of LPMHSS services. The LPMHS service is made up of Team leaders, Primary care mental health practitioners, Therapists , assistant psychologists and Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) trainees. We have close links with both the clinical/counselling doctorate in South Wales and the CBT course, and consistently have trainees on placement with us.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as a senior clinical manager within the LPMHSS, offering line management to clinicians within the LPCMHSS, and supporting training placements, to ensure a seamless provision of healthcare.
The post holder will be responsible for the recruitment of staff, providing and/or ensuring appropriate line management and supervision (professional and clinical) is in place for all members of the LPMHSS psychological interventions specialty.
The role of the post holder will ensure compliance with clinical governance of the work delivered and play a strategic part in the development of the LPMHSS provision. The role will include clinical work that will be delivered by establishing the psychological needs within the service and collecting evidence in relation to outcomes and added value with a view to service developments in that area. The clinical role will also involve consultation to other professionals, training, and multi-disciplinary work in relation to staff support.
The post holder will actively engage in service development and seek opportunities for developing a training and recruitment strategy to widen access for psychological therapies. This will include developing service proposals and funding bids for the Health Board, Welsh Government and other funding streams.
