Job summary

To ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services in line with national and locally agreed standards.

To ensure that all relevant qualitative and quantitative targets are delivered in a timely way and with the agreed resource framework.

Responsibility for managing all operational aspects of activity, referral and performance management.

Main duties of the job

The Directorate Support Manager will have delegated responsibilities for a range of operational activities, working autonomously with the majority of decisions being made based on experience and specialised knowledge gained.

Be responsible for managing all operational aspects of activity, referral and performance management and will work in conjunction with the Service Manager taking forward the key targets of the Care Group's Performance Dashboard, Local Authority Performance Indicators (where applicable) and service development.

Deputise for the Service as and when required, and work autonomously using own discretion.

Have managerial responsibility for all administration and clerical staff across all sites within their Directorate.

Ensure that all recruitment, appointment and performance management and sickness processes are in accordance with employer policies and procedures and will liaise with People Services and Recruitment Officers.

Support the Directorate Management Team and Senior Social Services Managers in the development, implementation and delivery of performance management and activity reporting frameworks for the Directorate and Social Services (where applicable)

Work with the Directorate Management Team and Senior Officers in taking forward key targets in performance indicators, relating to waiting lists, DNA rates and service development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Educated to Degree Level in relevant subject, plus Master's Degree in relevant subject or possess equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
