Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Substantive Consultant post based in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. This post is based in the Ty Llidiard Inpatient Unit, Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. Due to the geographic spread of the service, the role would require a significant amount of travelling. This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic and transformational service committed to delivering high quality services for the population in south, mid and west Wales.
You will be joining Colleagues in a well-established and innovative Directorate, with supportive colleagues and a culture where development and progression is embedded. The Postholder will be managerially responsible to Dr Cara Maiden, Clinical Director. The Postholder will be required to liaise with Clinicians and partner agencies including Paediatrics, Education and Children Services as and when necessary. Further the Postholder will be expected work at other UHB Sites if required.

Main duties of the job
Be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
Develop working relationships with the Multidisciplinary Team, colleagues from allied disciplines in addition to other teams and partner agencies in the Locality and Network area.
Work clinically with children, young people and their families/carers and other allied professionals.
Contribute to the development of knowledge and skills within the Service through teaching/research and Governance opportunities.
Meet the needs of Senior trainees placed within the Service and supervise Speciality Grade Doctors and Physician Associates
Act in a consultative capacity in relation to other agencies with regard to the mental health needs of children and families.
Contribute to the training programmes of other agencies/training establishments.
Maintain professional standards within the Service.
Assist and promote training/research.
