An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent band 5 Administration Support Manager within the Unscheduled Care Group to join the Specialty Medicine Directorate.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is looking to further develop their career in operational management to join our team based at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
The Specialty Medicine Directorate covers Cardiology, Respiratory, Diabetes & Endocrine and Rheumatology services, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to line manage a large team of administrative staff and work with the specialty management team to deliver against referral to treatment and cancer performance targets.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services in line with national and locally agreed standards.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will :
Line management of administrative staff, including leave requests and ensuring a safe and continuous service is maintained at all times.
Management of sickness absence for administrative staff, again following the appropriate Policy and ensuring processes are followed.
Provide direct day-to-day operational support in the provision of quality services within budget and that all opportunities for the continuous development and improvement of the service are appropriately considered and pursued.
Provide direct day-to-day operational support in the delivery of all NHS Wales Performance Framework targets. Ensuring effective day to day operational management in accordance with best practice.
Work independently using own initiative in accordance with Health Board policies and procedures, with work being managed rather than supervised.
