Job summary
Now is a great time to join the Finance Department in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team as a Senior Finance Officer in a Management Accounting and Business Partnering team.
The Senior Finance Officer role is varied and interesting and includes undertaking financial performance monitoring, budget setting, forecasting and providing timely financial advice for the allocated Services.
We are currently undergoing a re-structuring process across the Health Board. The vacancy we're looking to fill is currently in the finance team covering the Unscheduled Care Group, however the successful candidate could work across any of the services covering the Health Board's boundary from Bridgend in the South-West to Merthyr Cynon in the North-East.
This is a fixed term post until 31st July 2025 due to secondment cover
Main duties of the job
The role will involve close liaison with, and providing assistance to, advising and having regular meetings with, Line Managers, Clinical Service Group Managers and other budget holders within allocated Services while working within Statutory and UHB procedures, agreed timescales and legal requirements.
The post is permanent and full time, working 37.5 hours per week. This will follow a hybrid working model split between home and office working. The finance offices are currently located at Dewi Sant Hospital in Pontypridd and Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, although this is subject to change pending the re-structure. The post will service a range of meetings with colleagues, both virtual and in person. Face to face meetings with service leads could be at sites across the Health Board footprint.
The Finance department has a comprehensive staff development programme and is committed to providing support and continuing professional development opportunities to the whole Finance team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
