Job summary
Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB is looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking SCPHN School Nurse to promote the health and well being of school aged children. The successful candidate will be required to work within their allocated area, but will be expected to support colleagues across the health board when the need arises.
Applicants must have an in-depth knowledge of the public health agenda for children and young people, taking an innovative and proactive approach to address factors affecting their health and wellbeing . With the aim of reducing health inequalities so as the school aged population across the health board so as they may achieve their best possible outcomes.
We expect our staff to be professional role models who lead by example and adhere to the CTM health board values.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the qualities and attributes that supports a whole team skill mix approach to service delivery, in line with the with the The School Nursing Framework and implementation of the Healthy Child Wales Programme 2.
The successful candidates must have:
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nursing qualification, and a live registration on part 3 of the NMC register.
- Evidence of post registration development and training

- Have responsibility for identified schools.
- Work in partnership with members of the primary health care team and voluntary and statutory organisations.
- Participate in the delivery of evidence based care.
- Ensuring consistency in the quality of care provided.
- To increase the knowledge and skills of parents enabling them to identify and empowering them to appropriately meet the needs of their children and young people
- To support the team leader in delivering services to a defined area within a locality
