Main duties of the job
The ED consultant team is responsible for the provision of Emergency Department services at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. The ED team includes 5 trainee registrars, 3 specialty doctors, a senior clinical fellow and ACPs heading up the senior decision maker tier. Along with Emergency Nurse Practitioners, 10 junior doctors and 4 F1s. The team works closely with colleagues from inpatient specialty teams to deliver appropriate, largely pathway driven, ambulatory care.
The department sees approximately 59,000 new patients per annum with approximately 23% of those being children.

The post-holders will participate in the teaching and training of all professional groups. They will play a full part in clinical governance issues within the speciality of Emergency Medicine.
