Job summary
To carry out assigned tasks involving the cleaning, disinfection, packing and sterilizing of items for use in the treatment of patients by Theatres, Wards and Departments.
Main duties of the job
Collection of used trays and instruments from Theatres, Obstetrics equipment, Dental instruments, Wards etc.
Disassembly, checking and cleaning of used trays and instruments.
Inspection, assembly and packaging of trays and instruments, including large quantities of intricate and complex items under magnification.
Sterilizing of Theatre/ward/department trays and instruments.
Operating machinery associated with cleaning, packaging and sterilizing.
Distributing Theatre trays and instruments, Obstetric delivery trays, dental equipment, A&E instruments, etc. to relevant Wards and Departments.
Entering data relating to items received, processed and returned to the user, into the computer tracking system.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
