Are you enthusiastic about fostering Employee Engagement and promoting positive internal communications?

Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health board are looking for an exceptional Head of Engagement and Involvement to join the people team, implementing innovative plans to engage and involve our workforce of around 14,000 people.

We are looking for a motivational relationship builder, someone who has either studied or worked specifically in Employee engagement and/or Internal Communications, and has the ability to bring the work force together, fostering a climate of creativity to drive service improvements.

This role is a newly created post which will sit between the People (HR) and Communications and Engagement teams and the post holder will lead on improving employee engagement, satisfaction and experience and support culture change throughout our organisation.

Our teams play crucial roles in recruiting, retaining and developing our talented workforce across our thriving, geographically diverse organisation. We are looking for someone with advanced knowledge of involvement and engagement techniques, with experience of working in a large complex organisation and skills in analysing and presenting data. (Previous NHS experience is not required)

Main duties of the job

What are some of the key priorities for this newly created role?

  • Lead on employee engagement, working with wider teams to focus on our employer brand and values, ensuring both are understood throughout the organisation
  • Explore a range of communication methods, including digital and social media to connect with parts of our workforce which we have found hard to reach
  • Establish mechanisms to gain engagement and involvement data and assess outcomes, leading to culture change, and improvements in leadership capability
  • Establish, manage and deliver engagement and involvement comms activities such as staff survey
  • Develop, produce and promote a range of complex and sensitive engagement and involvement plans, data analysis and interpretation, to influence the key messages and actions through story telling
  • Lead the long-term culture plan for engagement and involvement
  • Implement and manage feedback mechanisms to gather employee insights and opinions
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies to foster a positive and inclusive organisational culture
  • Support an environment of openness and partnership working with colleagues from across the UHB
  • To conduct quantitative and qualitative research, to test the effectiveness and fairness of our engagement processes and interventions
  • To lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of key performance indicators and critical success factors for all engagement systems within the People Directorate
