Job summary

The postholder will work on allocated ICT projects to ensure they are managed to the highest standard and that all outcomes are delivered as required.

The ICT Programmes and Projects is a small, but expanding, team of dedicated project managers and business change professionals. Our work is varied across many specialties and is challenging but immensely exciting and rewarding.

Main duties of the job

A rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated and innovative senior ICT Project Manager to join a busy ICT Programmes & Projects team who have a rapidly expanding a portfolio of challenging and interesting projects.

Candidates will be expected to have experience of managing technical and clinical ICT projects within an NHS environment.

The successful candidate will be working at all levels and in all NHS specialties across the organisation. With considerable freedom to act, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of key ICT project objectives which will enable and support the vital work of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).

The post holder will manage dedicated project resources and Directorate resources contributing to project delivery. In particular, the post holder will have specific project management responsibilities, often working within tight timescales and competing demands.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential

  • Educated to Degree Level plus in-depth specialist knowledge of NHS ICT procedures acquired through both professional qualifications and experience.
  • Significant Project management application, preferably within an NHS environment, including formal PRINCE 2 project management qualifications or an appropriate Post Graduate Diploma or training and experience in project and staff management to its equivalency.
  • Detailed knowledge of project planning and management, gained through experience of using formal project planning tools
