Job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant Anaesthetist to support our Anaesthetic provision at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant, the successful appointee will become part of our friendly professional team and join the existing workforce of 24 Consultant Anaesthetists and 20 Junior Doctors.
Main duties of the job
The current job plan comprises of 10 sessions made up of theatre, pre-operative assessment and resident and non-resident on call commitments (1:14 rota).

Essential
- Full GMC with a licence to practice
- Fellow Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent
- Must be on the specialist register, be within 6 months of attaining a CCT or be eligible for inclusion on the specialist register within 6 months att the time of interview
- Eligibility to work and live in the UK
- Advanced Life Support Provider
Desirable
- Advanced Life Support or Equivalent Instructor
- Posession of an additional degree, diploma or post-grad qualification
- Special interest/Diploma in Pre-operative Assessment and CPET Testing
- Specialist interest in major GI surgery
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Broad experience in Anaesthetics
- Good clinical knowledge, acumen and judgement
- Experience of participation in audit and/or quality improvement in the last 6 months
Desirable
- Publication(s) in professional journals
