Job summary

The CTMUHB Software Department develops in-house clinical and administrative systems for our clinical teams. These include solutions for Maternity, Theatres, Pre-Assessment, Bed Management and finance. We also develop and support our clinical data repository and APIs for data integration across NHS Wales.

The successful candidate would be involved in developing the clinical data repository, new applications and APIs and maintaining/re-developing existing software and pipelines. We require an experienced python or java developer for semantic applications using technologies such as SPARQL, NIFI, RDF, OWL . It would be advantageous to have experience in data integration and the development of APIs using technologies , statistics and machine learning. A knowledge of HL7 and FHIR would also be useful.

This post is Fixed Term until 31/03/2025 due to funding.

Main duties of the job

We have opportunities for an experienced Developer with Python, and Java to play a key role developing and maintaining systems that improve people's health outcomes.

Some of the key responsibilities our Developers can expect:

  • Developing and populating our clinical data repository
  • Working within multidisciplinary agile teams including Developers, System Designers, User Researchers, Product Management/Delivery, Training and Clinical Authors
  • Designing new products and updating/maintaining our applications /services
  • Supporting colleagues, helping to solve complex issues and developing innovative solutions
