Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board for an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join our Community Team. We have a permanent full-time post available.

The successful candidate will be joining an innovative and forward thinking team who are part of a dynamic Dietetic department of over 90 dietitians. We have vacancies at both community sites based at Glanrhyd Hospital, Bridgend and Pontypridd Cottage Hospital.

This post will give you the opportunity to develop your skills working within our Community Nutrition Support Team. The community dietetic team in CTMUHB is split across two sites. Glanrhyd Hospital, Bridgend and Pontypridd Cottage Hospital.

The role includes domiciliary visits, community hospital sites, outpatient clinics (virtual and face to face), group education sessions and training of other professionals. Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working will be encouraged.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside fellow clinical and support staff to support the care of adult patients in community hospital, care homes and own homes settings requiring oral and artificial nutrition support. You will have regular supervision and support as well as encouragement to continually develop your skills and knowledge within this specialist team.

To support the provision of health care, to the people of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board catchment area. To have clinical responsibility for a varied caseload made up of adult patients receiving oral nutritional supplements and/or enteral feeding. Also outpatient work including general adult dietetic clinics or group education sessions.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team which will include medical, nursing, therapy and catering staff and other colleagues and agencies both within the hospital and the community.
