Due to a newly created vacancy within the team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly, hard working and patient-centred MDT team at Dewi Sant Hospital, Pontypridd.
Main duties of the job
You will act as the specialist SLT within a friendly MDT of AHPs, nurses and GPs. You will provide specialist domiciliary or remote care as appropriate to people with swallowing and communication difficulties, directly referred by the GP. You will participate in weekly MDT meetings and contributing to overall service delivery and improvement. You will offer mentoring and clinical supervision to your junior colleagues as required.
You will also have access to videofluoroscopy and FEES local services to instrumentally assess and rehabilitate your service users' swallowing difficulties. We encourage you to accompany these appointments for your won professional development as well as optimising joined up care.
We are a friendly, supportive and cohesive team and within CTMUHB there are plenty of opportunities for clinical supervision, CPD and development as well as a strong priority placed on staff wellbeing.
You will be offered regular supervision by your Band 7 line manager and will work closely with the Professional Manager for Adult Acute Services.
