Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Community Resource Team (CRT), delivering multi-disciplinary/multi-agency community services to adult patients in the Bridgend Locality. The successful candidate would provide clinical leadership and support to line manage the Occupational Therapists within CRT. They would participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational services within CRT holding responsibility for defined projects. They would also contribute to and participate in the ongoing development of integrated CRT services.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential within this post. The successful candidate will need to plan and manage their time effectively, ensuring prioritisation and completion of both clinical and non-clinical tasks, to ensure effective workload management and the ability to respond flexibly to the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

To be a clinical leader for Occupational Therapy within the CRT.

To be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of Occupational Therapy within CRT leading by example, demonstrating good practice, openness and responsiveness to emerging evidence.

To provide Occupational Therapy expertise within multidisciplinary/multiagency setting.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent OT qualification)
  • Professional Registration with HCPC
  • Specific recognised postgraduate training / courses relevant to specialist area equivalent to masters level
  • Leadership / management training
  • Accredited fieldwork supervisor for the education of OT students
  • Experience of autonomous caseload management, comprising assessment, planning intervention and evaluation within relevant clinical area
  • Understanding of the Occupational Therapy process and ability to apply current best practice to designated client group
