Main duties of the job
This post is within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Old Age Psychiatry service for Taff. The team provide mental health and memory services for patients over the age of 65 but also according to patients needs. The post holder can expect to gain experience of memory assessment, diagnosis and follow up as well as functional mental health. A large proportion of the clinical work will be community work including clinics but there will also be inpatient experience for patients with organic and functional mental health conditions if desired. The post holder will be supported to develop to be able to provide senior advice. Whilst we appreciate flexibility from all members of the team, the physical care is currently largely provided by the core training doctors, the Health Board is also currently seeking to employ a nurse practitioner to aid the physical care of inpatients. The post holder should expect to support and help develop core trainees and allied health professionals in the community but also in hospital as needed.
