This new role will oversee and deliver against Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB (CTM)'s emerging retention strategy. It offers the opportunity to work closely with colleagues within our People Directorate but also across the breadth of CTM and with external stakeholders such as Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW). Excellent communication, organisation and influencing skills will be required to ensure local progress against the All-Wales Retention Programme, enabling us to develop and deliver ambitious, evidence-based local retention plans that meet our organisational requirements making a real difference to our people.

Main duties of the job
o As the organisation's expert on retention, drive the delivery of the retention strategy, acting as a focal point for retention activities at organisational level, working with leaders, line managers and staff to promote best practice, resources and standards.o Work in collaboration with a wider range of stakeholders including colleagues within the People Directorate and with managers and teams, and in partnership with Trade Union/professional body colleagues.o Map out local roles, responsibilities and mechanisms involved in retention activities at CTM.o Review and analyse baseline metrics and information related to retention at CTM.o Lead the implementation of self-assessment tool and development of local retention plan and priorities.o Establish staff and stakeholder engagement in the Retention Programme including through Local Partnership Forums (LPFs).o Use benchmarking and assessment of evidence based best practice to ensure own specialist knowledge and the continuous improvement of CTM's retention strategy.o Drive progress on retention priorities using a QI approach to demonstrate improvements in results.o Co-ordinate and report on local implementation of the Nurse Retention Plan in conjunction with People Services Team and the Executive Director of Nursing.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
