Job summary

At Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTM UHB) we are recruiting experienced, motivated, and independently minded leaders to fill several Service Manager roles. These are excellent opportunities for values led and action oriented operational managers to support Directorate Managers in planning, managing, and enhancing service performance.You will be self-motivated and able to act under your own initiative and adept at supporting and delivering during a climate of change. A values led "can do" leader, you will be skilled at relationship building (internal and external) with excellent communication skills focused on engagement and the continuous improvement of services. Forward thinking, you will enjoy contributing to strategy and policy setting at a directorate level while also adept at developing and implementing operational strategies. You will do this by promoting and role modelling the Health Board values and behaviors through strong, compassionate leadership and engagement.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the senior management team (SMT), you will:

  • ensure operational plans and performance are closely managed,
  • proactively lead and provide solutions to resolve difficult operational issues,
  • ensure CTM UHB objectives, targets and quality standards are delivered
  • develop and implement the IMTP (Integrated Medium-Term Plan) with the SMT
  • ensure systems and processes are in place and meet governance requirements
  • link in with external bodies such as commissioners when required
  • utilise the skills and experience of the wider Directorate team
  • manage, lead and coach support teams

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
