Job summary
The Welsh Health Specialist Services Committee (WHSSC) acts on behalf of the 7 Health Boards in Wales to commission specialist health services for the Welsh population.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new project manager to support the Mental Health and Vulnerable Groups Commissioning Team at WHSSC in the development and implementation of projects relating to the strategic aims of this portfolio.
The roles will offer a wide range of experiences across these service areas, and post-holders will have the opportunity to utilise and develop their project management skills within a supportive environment, whilst helping development and delivery of an important range of services for the people of Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Project Manager role will provide expert project management support on a portfolio of projects, identified as part of WHSSCs Integrated Commissioning Plan, which in turn informs the IMTPs of the 7 Health Boards in Wales. The role will in particular support service change and innovative developments across the Mental Health and Vulnerable Groups portfolio.
The role will also be required to support a number of work streams as part of the cross cutting themes programme.
The role will enable the development of plans, documentation and guidance for relevant project teams together with ensuring that communication is maintained between all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, organisational procedures are adhered to, objectives are identified and met, and benefits realised from the implementation of the change.
The Project Manager's prime responsibility is to ensure that assigned projects produce the required deliverables within the defined quality, time and cost constraints and to facilitate full realisation of benefits defined in the Business Case/commissioning intent through the application of project management methodology and techniques.
