Job summary
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is looking for an exceptional, ambitious communications and engagement Director to drive our long term strategy for engagement and communications, both within the Health Board and externally with our communities, patients, and stakeholders.
The Director of Communications, Engagement and Fundraising will be a senior and influential member of Cwm Taf Morgannwg's Executive Team, ensuring a strong and proactive communications strategy to support our ambitions and support our organisation strategy, CTM 2030. You will be a key advisor to the Chief Executive, Chair and Board on all matters relating to communications, organisational reputation and dealings with the local and national media. As such, you will act as CTM's spokesperson.
We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of strategic communications and significant experience in a large and complex organisation. You will have demonstrable experience in reputation management and successfully implementing communication strategies that promote our reputation, and clearly articulate and deliver a clear vision for communications.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
Main duties of the job
Key duties include:

Responsibility for ensuring that there is a clear long-term strategy for engagement and communications both within the Health Board and externally with our communities, patients, and stakeholders

Ensure a strong, positive, and proactive communications are in place to support the ambitions in delivering improved outcomes for our population and in support of the organisation's strategy, CTM 2030

Oversee the fundraising activities of the organisation, ensuring that the CTM Charity has a clear purposes and build the profile in the local community

To provide expert professional communications advice, guidance and support to the Board, Executive Team and senior leaders across CTM

To work with the Chair, Chief Executive and their office to ensure regular and effective communications with elected politicians including councillors, MS and MPs

To lead the engagement activities of the UHB, working closely with the Director of Strategy to ensure active engagement with the community, councils, and voluntary sector on the developing strategy, and how it will be implemented across the CTM area

As custodian of the UHB brand, to work with the operational and clinical teams to ensure patient information both print and digital is up to date, current and meets the needs of patients and families. The Director will be responsible for oversight of the public messaging and communication materials across the UHB sites.
