An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our established Acute oncology team.

The Macmillan Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist will bring together the available expertise in emergency and acute medicine, oncology, haematology and palliative care to develop treatment pathways for the rapid assessment and treatment of common cancer related emergencies.

Main duties of the job

The aim of the Macmillan Acute Oncology CNS is to facilitate the best pathway for patients, through liaison with the appropriate oncologist following their assessment. To help tailor investigation and treatment to what is appropriate, reducing both missed opportunities and unnecessary actions.
