Job summary
The Clinical Specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic post holder will be required to act as a highly specialist clinical resource, disseminating expert information to physiotherapy colleagues. They will be expected to take a lead role in the education of post-graduate physiotherapy colleagues and other professions. Imparting knowledge and skills, guiding further knowledge acquisition and acting as a mentor.
The post holder will work with the clinical lead Physiotherapist to review service provision, and be responsible with the clinical lead for developing the Trauma and Orthopaedic service. This will be underpinned by regularly undertaking research/audit within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy service, developing an advanced practice portfolio and implementing best practice in line with National Guidelines.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop and deliver Inpatient Trauma and Orthopaedic services at Princess of Wales Hospital.
The post holder needs to be highly motivated and dynamic to work across the Trauma and Orthopaedic pathway, liaising and supporting the wider Orthopaedic team. They will provide clinical leadership in the service, being actively involved in service improvement, national audit & Orthopaedic special interest groups.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
