Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Palliative Care Therapy Service as a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner. You will work as part of the Specialist Palliative Care Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Dietetics Team delivering therapeutic interventions to patients in the hospital setting and their own home.
If you are enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to work autonomously, whilst being part of a wider multi-disciplinary team then this could be the role for you! You will be based within the Palliative Care unity in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and supported by the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Dietitian to develop your knowledge and skills in Palliative Care.
Th ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will supporting the Clinical Physiotherapists (PT) Occupational Therapists (OT) and Dietician (DT) in the delivery of PT, OT and DT management and rehabilitation to palliative care patients, cancer and non-cancer.
They will work as part of the Therapy team to undertake specific clinical and administrative tasks, implement intervention programmes as instructed and delegated by the OT/PT/DT, responding flexibly to the needs of the service

- Evidence of good education, to include English, Mathematics GCSE or posses equivalent qualification, or skills knowledge and expereince
- OCN/Agored accredited modules or relevant NVQ level 3
- Knowledge relating to a range of core AHP activities
- Knowledge of a range of factors/health conditions that can influence function within a patient's home/community

- Successful completion of releant competency based training (or able to complete within a 2 year period)
