Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service.

We are looking for an experienced SLT to join our team to provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and support to children with complex speech, language and communication difficulties who attend Ysgol Bryn Castell.

Main duties of the job

Ysgol Bryn Castell (YBC) is a community day special school which provides education for pupils aged 7 to 19 years old with complex Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties, including Autism, alongside specific learning difficulties and other additional learning needs. You will be based in the school and you will support the children's speech, language and communication needs. This will be in the form of direct support to children as needed, but also indirect support, in the form of upskilling staff and making the school a communication-friendly environment.

You will be in close contact with the Core SLT team, which has a range of clinical specialists available for support and second opinions.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg SLT department are a friendly and compassionate team who place a strong commitment to supporting staff wellbeing, supervision and continued professional development. You will have access to regular staff development workshops, paeds meetings as well as line management meetings.
