Job summary
This post will join the team responsible for the provision of medical services to the University Health Board in Cwm Taf Morgannwg. The post will be part of the general Medical team and provide support to the combined general medical on-call rota for emergency work at a SHO level as well as support to ward based speciality teams, or the acute medical unit.
Main duties of the job
THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR UPTO 6 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
The post holder will be required to support the delivery of outpatient, inpatient and emergency services for the local population and in doing so foster excellent working relationships within and outside the specialist area, including medical, nursing, secretarial and support staff, General Practitioners and Management Teams.
The post holder will be part of the 1:15 out of hour's on-call rota within Princess of Wales Hospital. This may be subject to change, in accordance with appropriate consultation process with post holders.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board currently provides services to around 330,000 people. The Health Board will primarily serve the residents of Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taff as well as residents of North Cardiff, parts of the Rhymney Valley, South Powys and other adjacent health communities. Residents of Rhondda Cynon Taff, from Treherbert and Maerdy in the North to Ynysybwl, Llantrisant and Beddau in the South, the Cynon Valley in the centre and Merthyr Tydfil and the Rhymney Valley in the East will use the services provided by the Health Board.
