Job summary
The Forensic Adolescent Consultation and Treatment Service (FACTS) is a national All Wales Tier-4 service that provides specialist assessment and consultation for children (aged 10-17) deemed high risk to others and who present with significant complexity.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team including Clinical Psychologists and other members from the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will assist with the provision of psychological formulation, contribute to structured risk assessment jointly with other professionals, administer psychometric assessment and manage a database of information including outcome data. These tasks will be completed under direct supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
Main duties of the job
This post is fixed term for for 12 months due to the needs of the service
The post holder will support the work of qualified Clinical Psychologists in the roll out of Enhanced Case Management (ECM) - a trauma informed approach to supporting children known to youth justice. This approach has been evaluated and is now being rolled out across all 17 Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) in Wales. The post holder will attend team formulation meetings and jointly with the Clinical Psychologist assist in the writing of team formulation reports.
The role will also involve joining other professionals in the provision of advice and consultation to CAMHS services for children who present with a high level of complexity and significant risk to others. Your role will be to provide a support in the completion of structured risk assessment (e.g., HCR-20 and SAVRY). Training and support will be provided as you take up your role. There will also be opportunity to be involved in the delivery of training to other organisations and involvement in audit and research. You will be responsible for inputting and maintaining data on database including outcome measures and referral information.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
