Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior nurse to lead the Clinical Informatics Team. You will provide strategic clinical leadership for the development of the long-term vision and strategic plans for digital transformation projects in Hywel Dda University Health Board. This will include WNCR systems, Epma, eObs, eflow and other digital systems. You will advise on national and local policy development and lead on the development of local clinical and digital standards and protocols, including clinical digital risk management. You will also provide clinical professional advice regarding digital system development and deployment ensuring digital ways of working supports accountable clinical practice and quality patient care. You will lead a team implementing these changes across the health board working closely with the Head of Nursing for Professional Standards and Digital Informatics.
Main duties of the job
o Translate and implement the high-level digital strategy of the health boardinto the clinical workforce.o Provide leadership for the development and delivery of a statutory digital patient safety strategy and standards in the health boardo Act as an expert clinician reviewing Health Information Systems to identify strategic fit and risk / benefit analysis.o Work autonomously to ensure complex decision making, prompting implementation of evidence-based interventions when digital patientsafety incidents are identifiedo Work closely with the Patient Safety Team to ensure patient safety in relation to digital and informatics systems as a Clinical Safety Officer.o Work with the Head of Nursing for Professional Standards and Digital Informatics to lead on nursing informatics work ondigital solutions to ensure the effective technology into nursing and wider MDTpractice.o Take responsibility for the management and investigation of clinical incidents related to digital solutions ensuring learning and appropriateaction is disseminatedo Represent the Health Board at national level and will advise on national digital application, health informatics policies and strategies suchas the Welsh Nursing Care Record (WNCR) and hospital electronic prescribing and administration (ePMA), eObs, patient flow
