Pathology Digital Operations Manager

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and suitably qualified individually to apply for the Band 8a post of Pathology digital operations Manager within the Pathology Department at Hywel Dda University Health Board.

The post holder will act as the digital lead for the Hywel Dda University health board pathology service.

Using expert knowledge, provide a Hywel Dda wide role for:o The production, demonstration and communication of a wide range of data and statistical information relating to Pathology services, andprovision of complex advice relating to that information.o The management, performance and development of Pathology digital systems, both locally and from National sources where required.o The formulation and implementation of long-term Pathology digital strategic plans, policies, strategies and projects.

Base for this post is flexible and can be decided with the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the skills, knowledge and experience to promote a digital culture across all areas of Pathology. They will provide expert advice, information and guidance to the Operational Managers, Site Managers and other senior staff on matters relating to Pathology digital and IT. This will include travel between various sites on a relatively regular basis - as dictated by site requirements.

The successful candidates hospital base can be discussed at interview.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, provide an expert role for the services behalf to take forward all software upgrades, patches and versions, liaising with Health Board, DHCW and external suppliers for relevance, of both content of releases and also release notes, Plan and project manage Pathology digital projects and long-term plans from the strategic concept stage to development, implementation and use. and Use and implement all aspects of Health Board IT/digital policy to ensure that Pathology Service IT/digital systems are both properly maintained and regulated with regard to compliance with correct procedures.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
