Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated, experienced individual to join our Scrub Practitioner Team at Glangwilli General Hospital, Carmarthen.

As a department we focus on patient safety, excellence and staff well being so we are looking for individual's who have these values at the centre of their practice.

The Main Theatre is a very productive department, providing a range of services across a number of specialities. There are nine theatres in total, including a 24/7 service for NCEPOD, Ophthalmic, Trauma & Obstetrics.

We operate a 24/7 hour rota, this includes day, twilight and on call shifts.

Main duties of the job

The Department has a friendly supportive environment, which is strongly centred on teamwork and patient care. The successful candidate would be required to hold a RGN/RN qualification or a Diploma/Degree in Operating Department Practice.

We are a proactive, student nurse/ODP placement provider, therefore candidates must possess mentorship qualification or willing to work towards. Within theatres staff development is a priority and we have a dedicated Lead for Education Training and Development and as such we can offer opportunities to obtain further perioperative qualifications.

Experience in Emergency care is desirable but not essential, we offer an excellent induction programme which includes supernumerary preceptorship to ensure competencies are achieved, plus you will have access to ongoing CPD and training opportunities provided by our dedicated theatre education team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
