Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced healthcare professional to lead the Waiting List Support Service (WLSS) within Hywel Dda University Health Board. The service objective is to provide advice and support to patients awaiting planned care in order to promote healthy lifestyle choices, prevent deterioration and deconditioning and help patients to prepare for treatment and recovery in line with the Welsh Government's Promote, Prevent, Prepare policy for Planned Care.
As senior service manager within the multidisciplinary service, the successful candidate will be responsible for operational management and service delivery, clinical governance and oversight, demand and capacity planning, communication and engagement plans and all reporting requirements. This will involve working closely with all relevant stakeholders to actively review, develop and evaluate service delivery and new ways of working.
The successful candidate will have significant clinical and management experience working within a multi-disciplinary team across different clinical specialties/ conditions within an integrated care system.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Be accountable for the operational delivery of the Waiting List Support Service (WLSS) within Hywel Dda University Health Board, ensuring high quality, flexible and responsive service delivery and to plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate the service provided.
Be responsible for aspects of governance, compliance and assurance related to the WLSS, ensuring safe and effective use of all resources and ensuring the safety of staff and patients.
In partnership with the designated Service Delivery Manager, take operational management responsibility for the delivery of the financial and operational priorities.
Support the clinical and managerial leadership of the WLSS, delivering a range of outcomes, ensuring that fundamental and underlying activities to organisational success are achieved.
Drive innovation, modernisation and high levels of staff and patient satisfaction for the Service.
