Job summary

The post offers an exciting opportunity for the right Mental Health Professional to secure the position of Team Manager for our committed and passionate Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Ceredigion.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate well-developed leadership skills along with the faculty to motivate a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality, safe and effective care and treatment programs in collaboration with our service users and their carers/family. In addition, the expectation is that the professional in this post will engender a culture that champions the equality and rights for this often-disadvantaged client group.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and manage the safe operation of an Older Adult Community Mental Health Team
  • be able to demonstrate the requisite leadership skills to effectively manage change, working systematically in accordance with policy/procedure and best practice to both raise and maintain standards whilst leading a team through transformation.
  • be able to demonstrate a confident ability to set, lead and maintain high clinical and professional standards in the workplace in accordance with Health Board and All Wales policies and procedures, and Health Inspectorate Wales Regulatory Standards.
  • be able to show an awareness of clinical governance along with a thorough knowledge of clinical effectiveness and clinical supervision within older adult community mental health practice
  • be able to enjoy good professional working relationships and mix easily with service users/families/carers, multidisciplinary and interagency colleagues alike, in keeping with Health Board Values and your respective Professional Code of Conduct.

  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Postgraduate diploma qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience at Band 6 or above in area of clinical practice

Desirable

  • Experience in Acting up experience or managing a CMHT Band 7
  • Clinical Audit experience
