Job summary

This is a fixed term/secondment post until 31/10/2025.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists.

The successful applicant will support the testing of the national LIMS and support its implementation in Hywel Dda University Health Board.

The role is flexible and discussions about working locations and patterns are encouraged.

Main duties of the job

Due to the planned launch of the new national LIMS system in late 2025, we require a trained Biomedical scientist to support the blood transfusion manager in testing the new system against agreed protocols and help prepare the service to implement the new LIMS system.

Full training on the current and new systems will be provided.

The individual should possess either the IBMS Specialist portfolio or equivalent and sufficient post registration experience to undertake a specialist role within Haematology/Blood Transfusion.

The successful candidate will be expected to effectively communicate information, advice, instruction and professional opinion to colleagues and Pathology Service users in both primary and secondary care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
