Job summary

This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 30/09/2025

If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people in managing the emotional and mental health challenges they face in today's world? Have you ever wished you could make a difference early in a child or young person's life to enable them to thrive and grow?

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (S-CAMHS) to join an expanding and dynamic multidisciplinary mental health service for a fixed term role within Hywel Dda UHB (Carmarthenshire).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the Primary Mental Health Service. This incorporates duties within Primary Mental Health and Schools In-Reach.

The post holder will work alongside with colleagues, and autonomously to carry out mental health assessments and deliver interventions to children and young people as part of the Welsh Government Mental Health Measures 2010.

This will involve both providing direct support as well as linking children and young people in to other sources of support and beneficial activities in the community in order to benefit their emotional and mental health.

The post holder will maintain direct links with schools to undertake consultations and training that will ensure early identification of support. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly as part of a team to ensure excellent delivery of service provision, including working weekends where required to ensure accessibility and continuity of service delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated qualified practitioners with relevant experience to develop their experience and clinical skills in child and adolescent mental health. Experience in S-CAMH services is not a requirement, and we would encourage interest from a range of candidates with relevant experience.

Excellent opportunities will be available for training and professional development and the post holder will receive managerial and clinical supervision.
