Job summary
We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, forward-thinking Senior doctors to join our dynamic, highly supportive, friendly Emergency Department based in Bronglais General Hospital.
These posts are for senior level doctors within the ED team. The successful applicant would be expected to be the senior doctor on various shifts dealing with acutely unwell patients, be able to supervise and support junior staff, and help coordinate the flow of patients in the ED .
Main duties of the job
The Emergency Department (ED) is an access point for all medical and surgical emergencies for both adults and paediatrics, and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The ED sees in excess of 31,000 presentations a year. The ED consists of a 2 bay Resuscitation area, 4 Majors bays and a co-located minors which is mixed doctor/ENP led
The hospital is a Rural Trauma Facility as geographically remote and unique to two hospitals in the same Health Board. This is within the South and West Wales Trauma Network. We enthusiastically support the use of POCUS (point of care ultrasound) and will support training courses financially. We work closely with the Medical Admissions Unit and we have the benefit of a small friendly hospital where everyone knows each other which leads to greater cohesiveness and efficiency.
