Job summary

The post holder will support the Senior Workforce Team in the delivery of a comprehensive range of workforce activities throughout the Directorate. This will include working alongside the Relationship Managers to identify key areas of work and increase the engagement of the workforce and facilitation of workforce redesign.The role will identify new ways of working, management of operational HR issues; employee relations, performance management and monitoring of workforce KPIs, embedding good people management practices and developing and raising managerial and team capabilities. The post holder will therefore play a key role in ensuring effective and efficient management of people, through the provision of highly specialised expert advice to the business on a comprehensive range of HR services to the directorates, such as sickness management, disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, service redesign and change management, employee relations, equality and diversity.

Main duties of the job

In particular, the post holder will have accountability for attendance management, and terms and conditions across the Health Board and line manage the Workforce Advisor - Attendance Management. The post holder will support the attendance management process offering support to managers in both the management of sickness and support to staff. They will participate in project groups to deliver change, ensure best practice in the management of change, building and championing partnership working with Trade Unions and Professional Organisations at every level of the Directorate. The post holder will assist with the implementation of workforce and service change proposals.The post holder will be expected to exemplify the values and behaviours of the UHB and take action to embed them throughout the Directorates, and in all workforce and OD policies and practices.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
