Job summary
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for a either a full time post or 2 part time posts will be considered. Duties will primarily be based in the Mortuary department at Bronglais Hospital but will require flexibility to travel to other mortuary sites for training or cover.
No professional qualification are required but a good level of education GCSE in English, Mathematics and a Science subject , NVQ3 or equivalent and previous experience of working with patients/relatives in a health care setting is required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to providing a quality service within mortuary work areas and be able to manage their own workload independently, as a lone worker.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of Mortuary activities and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
They will be responsible for the reception and release of deceased, accurate recording of valuables and property, preparing deceased for viewing, ensuring the cleanliness of the mortuary, completing daily work sheet and monthly audits.
They will communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and service users; including bereaved relatives, Medical Examiners Service, Hospital wards and the Coroners Service.
They must be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of modern Mortuary practice and techniques and an in-depth understanding of current legislation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post but not essential.
