Hywel Dda University Health Board has a new, exciting opportunity for a motivated, driven and passionate Physiotherapist based in the north of Ceredigion.
This advert is for two WTE rotational rehabilitation physiotherapists within the Acute and Community Physiotherapy Team in Ceredigion covering both acute and community settings. Post holders will undertake rehabilitation rotations (9 months) across two rehabilitations settings; with neurological patients and older people in community, neuro outpatient setting, including rehabilitation for community hospital beds, and inpatient rehabilitation in Bronglais District General Hospital including stroke unit and elderly care.
The post holder will work as part of Ceredigion Acute & Community Physiotherapy Team providing timely and person-centred care for a large variety of patients across two core rotations. These rotations will each be for 9 months.
Main duties of the job
Community Rehabilitation: The role covers a variety of patients and pathologies including elderly care, falls and frailty, long term neurological conditions, neuro-degenerative conditions, brain and spinal injuries and long-term conditions management including postural management and contractures. It will also include the opportunity to work as part of the community physiotherapy team and Hywel Dda complex neuro rehab service alongside band 7 neuro rehab specialist physiotherapists and 8a Advanced Practitioner; and provide supervision and teaching Band 5 staff, physio support workers and therapy assistant practitioners.
Inpatient Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation as part of the acute physiotherapy team in BGH including stroke and orthopaedic rehab, elderly care and neuro outliers throughout the hospital site. This will include linking with Stroke Clinical lead, integrated stroke team as well as the trauma and orthopaedic team when the need arises. It will include opportunities to help cover community wards in Tregaron Community Hospital, delegating work to the community band 3 and 4 whilst following up appropriate patients.
