You will join our clinical team to provide one to one psychological support for staff who self-refer. This may involve triage, assessment and brief solution focused therapeutic interventions as well as supporting the effective use of Stress Risk Assessments. The role may also incorporate post trauma support work as well as co-facilitation of groups.
The role is based at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen but other bases could be considered and we provide the necessary support for some working from home where this is appropriate. Our service covers all three counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire so some travel to other bases will be required.
Main duties of the job
You will need to work confidently and autonomously, making good use of evidence based approaches. You will be comfortable in delivering effective time limited therapy both online and in person and will be quickly able to establish suitability as well identifying a focus for any therapeutic work offered. Experience of working therapeutically with adults and being able to manage and hold stress in self and others are essential. Working in the NHS is challenging as well as extremely rewarding and this kind of role takes special skills in being present for our staff when they are at their most vulnerable or distressed.
You will be working towards accreditation with a professional body (such as the BACP or BABCP) and we will support you to complete this within your first year.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
