Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse on the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU) at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli. The Ward comprises of 30 Medical beds.

We are looking for a pro-active, team focused nursing leader with a proven track record of leading nurses through periods of change.

The post holder will need to have strong leadership skills and have the ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and decision-making skills.

It is essential that applicants have the ability to work as part of a large Multidisciplinary team; a thorough knowledge of the admission/discharge process is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical and professional supervision and for ensuring that quality and safety are maintained to the highest standards for our patients.

You will be creative and innovative in your approach to delivering excellent care in line with budgetary constraints, strategic direction, and be able to deal with challenges.

You will need to be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience at Band 6 Level, (with evidence of post registered professional development) in order to offer supportive and effective leadership to junior staff.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
