Job summary

Are you a qualified mental health nurse or occupational therapist with a keen interest in working with older people to improve their mental health within a general hospital setting? If so, this is a great time to join the Mental Health Liaison team and to be part of building a creative and innovative service for people experiencing mental health problems whilst in a hospital setting. The team is focussed on providing outstanding care in which patients, families, and carers can have confidence. We are a friendly and well-motivated team, with good moral and supportive management. There are opportunities for progression and for further training.

This role will have a particular focus on working with older adults so experience of working in this field of nursing would be beneficial, however training and support will be provided. We work closely with our adult liaison nurse colleagues, supporting each other to provide care to patients of all ages experiencing mental health conditions within Emergency Departments, District General Hospitals and Community Hospitals. This role will offer you the opportunity to develop and utilise existing skills.
