Job summary
This is an exciting new post to help us develop and deliver content and mechanisms for dialogue between staff across the organisation and influence behaviour change through positive communication. The post holder will also be expected to deliver a programme of content and communication which recognises and celebrates staff and organisational wide achievements. The Communications Officer will need to build confidence in Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDdUHB) by enabling the sharing of good practice and recognising and valuing staff, to build a compassionate culture and progress the organisation as an employer of choice.
Can you -
Use a full range of communication methods, depending on a given situation, to target audiences and ensure effective two-way communication, including writing content, taking basic photos, planning, shooting and editing basic videos, and basic graphic design for promotional materials. Testing new ideas and approaches, including in the field of digital media.
Plan communication activities that are responsive to staff and balance the need for proactive service development and the reactive demand of operational responsibilities.
Provide swift and effective responses on behalf of Workforce and OD which are open and honest and effective in communicating position and reputation, often on sensitive and potentially contentious issues.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. - Educated to degree level in relevant field or equivalent level of work experience including practical knowledge and experience of methods and approaches as they relate to communications and media.
- Knowledge of communications including the various tools and techniques of communication and new media
- Qualification or demonstrative detailed knowledge of the legislation governing media, and slander/ libel laws for publishers. Understanding of Editor's Code of Conduct and the Chartered Institute of Public Relation's professional code of conduct and a willingness to act within accordance of them.
