An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Community Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse within the Llanelli Locality.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive nurse to provide a high standard of patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate effective leadership, team and partnership working. Interested applicants will need to have had substantial community experience and the Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District Nursing (or working towards the SPQ).
As a clinical nurse you will work without direct supervision and be accountable for the delivery of a high standard of cost effective nursing care to those who require it in the community. You will lead on promoting the delivery of high quality care within the Team and supporting team members to ensure a high standard of patient care.
The post requires excellent communication skills, a flexible in approach to work and good time management skills. Good IT skills are essential. The post holder will need the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work in conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge nurse to lead a community nursing team in delivering high standard, cost effective care for housebound patients within the Llanelli Locality.
Continually support and work in conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, including deputising/taking charge of the community nursing team in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Combine excellent clinical practice with day to day shift coordination and undertaking leadership and management responsibilities in support of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and provide professional nursing leadership and guidance, clinical advice and undertake caseload management and monitoring activities to ensure the effective delivery of high standards of nursing care at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
