Job summary

This is a fixed term post until 30/09/2024 due to funding. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated member of staff to join the Core Process Team.

The post holder will support the day to day provision of all financial support functions to the Health Board in relation to Core Processing, including the processing of feeds to the ledger i.e. payroll feeds, drugs feeds, Primary care feeds and general recharges, all month end financial transactional duties, monthly reconciliations, lease cars, as well as assisting with the Core Processing agenda.

You should possess good excel skills, with strong problem-solving skills and be someone who pays high attention to detail and has the ability to become familiar with new information quickly.

Main duties of the job

Main duties are but not restricted to:

  • Monthly Accrual/Prepayment of Accounts Payable Invoices
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Balance sheets
  • Liaise with other finance teams within Hywel Dda and external suppliers
  • Process Feeder files to the ledger, i.e payroll, drugs issues, etc
  • Action recharges of budget between departments
  • Monitor generic email account for the Health boards lease car process

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
